...in the meantime, anyone care to take a shot at colouring these characters? Make this a true collab of sorts (I'm sure the writters can come up with some appropriate prose to add)

The paint stains are a nice touch, ditto the purple tipped bangs, but the hair seems a little flat and lifeless in both cases at the moment...

And that is one smart little kitty. It reminds me of a sketch captioned by "Never give up!" It pictures a frog being swallowed by a stork, accept the frog has reached up under the stork's beak, choking said stork and preventing himself from being completely swallowed. Fight on, brave kitty, fight the evil to your last tooth and nail!

Teddy: You mean this sketch? lol

Broken: Love the "Vroom" pic! smile.gif I wonder if the cat that Miho is holding could be Piro? laugh.gif

In any case, here's my attempt to be a art of this area.

I can already see a lot of problems with the pic...things like proportion, inking, and other stuff.
But what can you expect from someone who did this at 12 midnight while eating mango jam and watching re-runs of Frasier??

True to my word, I've been working on a lil write-up about each of the SD-tans, but it's gunna take a lil while. To be frank, unlike the OS-tans, which were made up as satirical personifications of the Microsoft OSs, I don't think Neo really thought of anything other'n churning out some cute and/or cool characters and throwing em at us. As such, Ima have to take a lil more time if I'm going to create reasons for why they look like they do, and give them personalities. I'll get back to ya in a few days happy.gif

Oh, and if cannon colors haven't been picked by then, I'll make some up with reasons behind em happy.gif

Nonono ... you got it wrong. Haven't you ever wondered who OWNS (or rents) the Rent-a-zilla ? It's a family business run by an evil old uncle of the Fa-s.

It's just that people never look up (and check the rider) ...

Serena: You skipped on hair highlights (especially on the purple tips which were all done in one block colour), which is where the 'flat' comment came from, though you've corrected this for Fa-chan's hair. Good colour choices incidentally happy.gif

Belph: I tried to find something that would keep them linked to the relevant field ie: Fa-tan's sketchbook etc, Cg-tan's laptop (Ficky-kun I was sort of stuck on so I just tried to give him a vaguely intellectual air), though the more I read about the base concept, the more I see how I've deviated from it, though how to correct this I have no idea.

Uncreative: Lizards?

The idea behind the OS-tans was to satirize the Microsoft operating systems. In effect, they are like political cartoons...they comment on something about society through pictures. So, were you to re-draw the SD-tans, you'd need to first pick some identifying factors (ala Fa-chan's hairclip), and then pick things from the specific groups you wish to satirize. However, each group of people is pretty small, and only gives you so much that everyone in it shares that you can poke fun at.

Soooo, I'd say leave em be. We don't really give ya much material to work with anyway. Besides, I've got some ideas for personalities for each -tan as they are, though they aren't so much indicative of the group they represent as the only way I could make a write up that is more than a sentence and semi-amusing happy.gif
