Welcome to the Rock-n-Roll Circus! My head's been full of ideas lately, so expect more filks shortly after these opening selections.

By the way, a one-man circus isn't as entertaining as the three-ring variety. *hint*hint*

First, apologies to the Rolling Stones:

Largo-sensei (Jumpin' Jack Flash)

(Junko:)
I was dragged out to a game arcade
And I howled at screwin' with the PTA
But it's all right now, in fact it's a game!
But it's all right now, with Largo-sensei it's a-time to play!

(Ping:)
I was shot by a crazy, grinnin' bish
To be wanted is all that I ever wish
But it's all right now, in fact it's a game!
But it's all right now, with Largo-sensei it's a-time to play!

(Erika:)
I was drowned, I was locked up for schoolboys' dreams
My own man left me and my tears came in streams
No one knows that I'm more than this idol gleam
I've broke limbs and left them there to bleed
But it's all right now, in fact it's a game!
But it's all right now, with Largo-sensei it's a-time to play!

Largo-sensei, time to play
Largo-sensei, time to play
Largo-sensei, time to play...

~~~~~~~~~~~
Just... I'm sorry...
J(apanese) Schoolgirl (Brown Sugar)
Rail-thin waitress brings a couple meals
Finds little schoolgirl dressed in tight t-shirts
She's got earblades and that makes it alright
(Make sure you plug her in before midnight!)
J-schoolgirl, how come you mosh so good?
J-schoolgirl, just like a robot should
Fan service - old fanboy's blood runs hot
Writin' for the girl Piro-sensei has forgot
Her posse tells yeh this ain't alright
(They came to see me just around midnight!)
J-schoolgirl, how come you draw so good?
J-schoolgirl, just like a fangirl should
J-schoolgirl, how come you play so good?
J-schoolgirl, just like a young girl should
My fanservice may not be Sareth's kind
But with some Yuki it helps me unwind
I know Fred-rin likes things pure and white
(Glad he didn't see me just around midnight!)
J-schoolgirl, how come you dance so good?
J-schoolgirl, just like a young girl should
I said yeah, I said yeah, I said yeah - wai!
Just like a fangirl should!
Yeah, yeah, yeah - wai!
Just like a schoolgirl should!
Well Ocelot, at it again I see. Where's the accompanying art?
I really enjoyed these, most of the recent filks were of songs I didn't know, but these I know. J-Schoolgirl is my kind of filk. I like the way it strongly correlates with the original song. I could never write something like Largo-Sensei, it's just so different from Jumpn' Jack Flash, I'm very impressed.
I have no idea why, but for some reason the filk J-Schoolgirl made me think of filking the Hall & Oats song Maneater. I only filked the first stanza, the rest of the song didn't seem to need any changes.
Edited by Haldane's Request
Souleater
She'll come if the game is right
The lean and hungry type
She'll feed on you, I've seen it all before
Toying and playing
She's playing with you but she wants your soul and more
So many have died to see
What makes you think that you'll get free
The woman is wild, a magic girl that will feed upon your soul
Playing's the matter
If you're in it to win you ain't gonna get too far
Oh here she comes
Watch out boy she'll chew you up
Oh here she comes
She's a souleater
Oh here she comes
Watch out boy she'll chew you up
Oh here she comes
She's a souleater
I wouldn't if I were you
I know what she can do
She's deadly man, and she could really rip your world apart
Mind over matter
The beauty is there but a beast is in the heart
Oh here she comes
Watch out boy she'll chew you up
Oh here she comes
She's a souleater
That's sweet.
I kinda think you should have tried to make changes in the rest. Like changing Man-eater to Soul-eater... just a thought.
Damn Warner Bros., stealing landmarks that should be mine...
J-Schoolgirl is my kind of filk.
How... shameless of you to admit that.
Although, you guys should see the version I couldn't post. ohmy.gif
QUOTE
Where's the accompanying art?
Do I have to do everything? Actually, one of your famous mosaics might work, perhaps of the Who's or Rolling Stones or some other famous groups logos.
Kudos to slez for giving this thread a little momentum. Next up, with apologies to The Who - "Baba O'Riley!" (known to those out of the loop as "Teenage Wasteland").
Fanboy Homeland
Dedicated to those of us much too far from Tokyo...
Out here in the sticks
I hunt for my pix
I kill myself to get my manga
Oh my dear seiyuu
Someday I'll meet you
But now I'm many miles from Tokyo
Don't cry, don't raise your eye
We'll see our fanboy homeland
<Eiji, come today!>
<We've found our girl of grey>
<Come tomorrow, we'll meet at Anna Miller's>
The exodus is here
The great actress is near
I hope I see her before she gets too famous
Fanboy homeland
I'll see my fanboy homeland
Fanboy homeland
Oh yeah, fanboy homeland
I'll be homebound!
My best friend (yes I have friends) in high school was a huge fan of The Who. I can't tell you how many times I've heard "Baba O'Riley!" and every other song of The Who. So this was another filk that I could hear (and still am hearing) without digging out some old music.
The filk is pretty good, but not one of your best. It tracks well, but the imagery isn't as good as some of your other works. I think the biggest problem is the title, while it works, it pales in comparison to the commonly used title of the original, "Teenage Wasteland". It just doesn’t have the pizzazz.
While reading this latest filk I was momentarily inspired to filk "Pinball Wizard" to "FR4GF357 W1Z4RD." But after staring at the original lyrics for about ten min. I just gave up. The creative juices just weren't flowing and I hate to force things. Oh well, rock on Ocelot.
Yeah, Please eat my soul ohmy.gif
The Dark Cuty Goes Wild
She lurks you in with intention
Looks like an innocent goth
But It's doom and messy heads
that really turn her on
She got a body to die for
You touch it and you will
She's good the face of an angel
and an urge for thrill
She's sanctified by black
Hey! Stay away from the cuty of night
Hey! Don't you mess with Ping's bride
You Gotta pull out!
Can't you feel the darkness falling?
Get the hell out!
Can't you hear the cuteness roaring?
The Dark Cuty Goes Wild
Have casket will tavel
She's the cutest of the worst
She will chew your soul
to quench her thirst
The black cuty entraps you
Oh boy, you're in for a treat
She's the queen of dead
she's a cuty in heat
She's sanctified by black
Hey! Stay away from the cuty of night
Hey! Don't you mess with Ping's bride
You Gotta pull out!
Can't you feel the darkness falling?
Get the hell out!
Can't you hear the cuteness roaring?
The Dark Cuty Goes Wild
Oh, let's thank Fred for this little girl, yeah!
With her Eyes makein you thirst
You wanna put it inside
You're gonne lose it, she bites
Then she'll drive you crazy
Hey! Stay away from the cuty of night
Hey! Don't you mess with Ping's bride
You Gotta pull out!
Can't you feel the darkness falling?
Get the hell out!
Can't you hear the cuteness roaring?
The Dark Cuty Goes Wild
Well, not much to do with this one. I'll come up with something more creative later.
Yeah, I was a bit disappointed in how it turned out, for the reasons you cite. Still, not all of my 107 works can be ingenius.
BTW, approaching landmark: I'm just one piece away from tying smurd as SD's second most prolific author. The most prolific is, of course, Shoka, with 165 to his credit... it may take me a little while to catch him. blink.gif
If I had a nickel for every time I tossed out a filk or poem, I'd have a years worth of those packages of liquorice you find in vending machines... I could use some right now, actually. Heck, I've started and abandoned "Who Are You?" three different times now.
Luckily, my next work will be better - and probably be posted tomorrow.
Ah, mass creativity. Congratulations on your imminent record, WO. I'll catch you one day, you rogue.
My WHO seems to be missing, so I'll go with Aerosmith.
Games Over Ether (Toys In The Attic)
At a Cathode screen
More than code.
Shots explode
Just one mode.
Loosing the tensions we keep inside
Loosening knots as the brain elides
Only one focus to bear in mind
Now there's just ammo to find
More than code.
Shots explode
Just one mode.
Games! Games! Games! Over Ether!
Games! Games! Games! Over Ether!
Games! Games! Games! Over Ether!
Screens!
More than code.
Shots explode
Just one mode.
Loosing the tensions we keep inside
Loosening knots as the brain elides
Only one focus to bear in mind
Now there's just ammo to find
More than code.
Shots explode
Just one mode.
Games! Games! Games! Over Ether! [To Fade]
Plastic Case (Big Ten Inch)
Sung by: Largo
This girl don't need no stuffin'
Assets that would take first place
But she never told me nothin'
Till I opened that plastic case
'Cause it doesn't need a single tool
Doesn't need a single tool
When you buy a plastic case
You don't even need basic tools
I popped the housing open,
Put the jumper in its place
I wasn't even hopin'
I could get in that plastic case
But it doesn't need a single tool
Doesn't need a single tool
When you buy a plastic case
You don't even need basic tools
A, A, A new game was her decision
So I went to the disc replace,
But she filled my field of vision
And I forgot that plastic case
Even though it doesn't need a tool
Doesn't need a single tool
When you buy a plastic case
You don't even need basic tools
Some divine direction later
Felt the urge to leave that place
Just a red-haired invader
Got to forget that plastic case
But it didn't use a single tool
Didn't use a single tool
When you buy a plastic case
You don't even need basic tools
------------------
That doesn't read quite as perversely as the original, but if you look, you might find things...
I've been listening to a lot of the Clash lately, so how about some punk?
Tohya Calling (London Calling)
Apologies to the Clash
Tohya calling - to the faraway foes
Come to the islands - you'll leave here in throes
Tohya calling - from the Evil Cave
Come down here you rivals, to dance and rave
Tohya calling - now don't laugh at us
All you little psychophants of teenage lust
Tohya calling - say we ain't got no skills?
I'm guessing 'sensei' is off his pills!
The zombies are coming, some 3v1l's going down
Engines stop running and the cops are pullin' out
Unscheduled riots, but I have no ph34r
Tohya's behind it a~ll - worship your mistress!
Tohya calling - to the great teacher's class
Forget it, sempai - we're weaker than glass
Tohya calling - upon the zombies of death
Quit holding out - endure another breath
Tohya calling - and I don't wanna SHOUT
But when she was talking, I saw you runnin' out
Tohya calling - say evil can't cry
Except for that one with the yellowy eyes
The zombies are coming, some 3v1l's going down
Engines stop running and the cops are pullin' out
Unscheduled riots, but I have no ph34r
Tohya's behind it a~ll - worship your mistress!
Ow! Ow! Ow! Ow!
Ow! Ow! Ow! Ow!
(Now get this!)
Tohya calling - yeah, I read it, too
An' you know our theories? Well, some of it was true!
Tohya calling - from the top of the page
Thought yer a fan, see now your a slave!
I never felt so much a' like a'like a' like...
If we're moving, I'll move down to Texas, where three men made a lot of facial hair into something more than just a statement of laziness.
Apologies to ZZ Top
City of Gaming (Planet of Women)
Stuck in this city 'cause my slush fund's low
I need a good way to make a lot of dough. (To get out)
I spent the whole weekend turning pasty and poor.
Bought a lot of games, I want more and more.
City of gaming, Oh, yes
It's mecca for gaming, Oh yes
I won't leave my room
They got fine pixels and some decent screenshots
Then they give you more till you pay a whole lot
And you can't get away 'cause the city is a billboard
You look in the sky, advertisements by the horde
City of gaming, Oh, yes
It's mecca for gaming, Oh yes
I can't leave my room
I can't leave the city, can't pay to fly away
But why would I leave it, I can just pay and play.
I don't need no sleep or a sense of smell
Livin' on Top Ramen, what the hell, it's the
City of gaming, Oh, yes
It's mecca for gaming, Oh yes
I won't leave my room
Don't want to leave my room.
------------------
Sorry I can't be more story related, but gaming is so easy to write for and I'm struggling to understand Foucault for a class on Monday, so bah.
As a bearded Texan, I resent that assumption that it's just laziness - my facial hair is quite attractive, and a big hit with the ladies.
Okay, the ladies still don't care about me, but I look cool!
Anyway, I've had these two beauties (more or less) sitting on my hard drive for months, but never got around to posting them. Apologies to the Mighty Zep.
Never Party with Bad Company
{Misty Mountain Hop}
Walkin' through Yoyogi the other day, baby
What do you, what do you think I saw?
Hordes of zombies prowlin' through the street some missing arms and limbs said,
"Hey, boy, do you wanna rock?"
And you know how it is-
I really don't know what I musta smoked, whoa oh hoh
So I asked them if I could play along
I played guitar and we jammed to "Plastic Case" and I was feeling
Felt their skillz were legit
Just then a policeman stepped up to me and asked us said
"Please, hey, would we care
"To show a permit, show permits" - well you know
They asked me to stay for games on their '64, hoh hoh oh
They said that their friends had Goldeneye, ooh ooh ooh ooh
Right then an undead girl came up to me and asked how she looked
"And baby, baby, baby, do you like it?"
There I sat, nearly puked like a dog in the yard, smilin'
Ah, I'm not trying to fight it
"You really don't look like you're rottin'," hoh hoh oh
"I know that it's just a lack of brain," ooh ooh ooh ooh
So I ran out to the streets right then, thinkin' I better
I better bleach out my eyes, whoa-oo-oh yeah
Undead chicks really don't care, really don't care, don't care, really don't
Whether, whether you're dead or 'live
So I learned my lesson 'bout zombie parties
So I'm packing my bags for the Dallas skyline
Where the living party
Out in my home where the living play
Ooh ooh ooh ooh, ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh...
